Thurgood Marshall Academy is a public middle and high school in Central Harlem, serving students in grades 6–12.

Established 1993
A partnership rooted in Harlem
TMA opened through a collaboration among Abyssinian Development Corporation, the Manhattan High Schools Superintendent’s Office, and New Visions for Public Schools.
The school was created to provide comprehensive educational and support programs that prepare students to meet the demands of both the workforce and higher education.
Our mission reflects the spirit and life of Justice Thurgood Marshall and his commitment to positive social change. Students learn that scholarship carries a responsibility to contribute to their school, neighborhood, and wider world.
